You don't get xp from the bow itself, as arrows are the ammo and what do the damage.. so therefor arrows would give more experience.

These drop more arrows than you will use so you can stay for prolonged periods of time. Also in 1 particular area there is a fence you can shoot over so you wont take any damage.
