Here's a list of drop locations. (Even though this is a very "noobie" question.
In Camelot, in Al Kharid (in the desert mine), and in the Karamja Dungeon
Another reply: Let me add that it really isn't worthwhile to look for free fire runes. They currently cost 5 coins on the Grand Exchange - and for things where you need lots of fire runes (such as High Alchemy), you can use a fire staff to save some fire runes. If you go picking up free fire runes in Al Kharid, for example, you will probably get a value of a few hundred coins per hour, at most. Better do something more profitable - for example, mine clay, sell it, and use the money to buy the fire runes you require. A single trip to the clay mine will get you about 4K, at current prices. There is a good clay mine south-west of Varrock - almost exactly south of the Grand Exchange.
No staff will really MAKE runes; however, some staffs will SAVE you the runes when you use the corresponding spell. Thus, by wielding a staff of fire, or one of the more advanced versions, you will need no fire runes for any spell (for instance, combat spell, or high alchemy) that normally requires them.
infernal mages drop 7 blood runes and death runes commonly.dark wizards drop all runes nearly every drop.lots of slayer tasks will drop runes.Cockroach drones commonly drop air, water, earth and fire runes. Cockroach workers also (uncommonly) drop nature, chaos and even cosmic runes. Cockroach Soldiers drop death runes (and if your a member rare blood runes) and a few others. The flesh crawlers found in the second level of the Barbarian Stronghold commonly drop body runes. Level 2 goblins in Lumbridge drop water runes. Lesser demons drop fire runes: one trip can get you almost about 150 fire runes). Moss giants will drop the occasional 17 earth runes. For more info check out the RuneScape wikia.
For members, flesh crawlers drop dust runes, which are a combination of air and earth runes. For free users, I'm not sure. Needs update.
You can use the Low Level Alchemy at magic level 21 using 1 nature rune and 3 fire runes. Then after you get to magic level 55 you can High Level Alchemy using 1 nature rune and 5 fire runes. Both are for F2P and P2P.
earth or fire cause they are very close to banks
Mostly Fire runes but Law runes and Air runes are not far behind them.
you just wear it then get a spell that also requires fire runes and you can just skip the fire rune part because with the staff you have unlimited fire runes.
There is no staff like this.
You need level 15 runecrafting Have in your invent Fire runes and talisman or Air runes and talisman and pure essence. If you have fire runes go to the air alter, if you have air runes go to the fire alter then simply use the talisman on the alter. There is only a 50% of success, i recomend wearing a binding necklace to increase this to 100%.
Aubury's shop in Varrock will give out free air and mind runes.

Runecrafting the runes is your best bet, or buying the runes from GE, players or Ned in Varrock.

Runes aren't an alphabet. They are symbols that each represents a particular idea or thing. If you go to a metaphysical store you can find a book on runes.
You click on it to wield it (as if it were a weapon). Once you have the staff of fire, it will save you fire runes for any spell that requires them. For instance, a certain low-level attack requires a mind rune, a fire rune, and an air rune; if you wield the staff of fire, you save the fire rune.In the above example, a staff of air is better, because fire runes are cheaper than air runes. You would mainly want to use the staff of fire for superheating, low alchemy, or high alchemy. You click on it to wield it (as if it were a weapon). I would suggest fist of guthix because you can get free runes.
Fire runes are over-produced on RuneScape, so there are far more on the market than people willing to buy them. However, they will sell if given enough time.
