1200 calories is the bare minimum you should be eating just to maintain the function of your organs. If you eat any less, your body goes into starvation mode, meaning that your metabolism will drop, and it will be a lot harder to lose weight. You should calculate your Basal metabolic rate to see the minimum calories you should eat/

BMR is a calculation of how many calories your body needs just to keep your organs working. In other words, it's how many calories you would burn if you did nothing and just slept all day. YOU SHOULD NEVER EAT LESS THAN YOUR BMR! This is seriously unhealthy and will actually make it harder to lose weight. You burn more than your BMR anyway, just from walking around, sitting and daily activities.
