No, they are a supplement, not a prescription medication and as such, they are not actually proven to do anything.

There are prescription medications that can help, but you also have to follow a proper diet and exercise routine. There is nothing that is actually going to help you lose weight, while you lay in bed and snooze..........though it would be nice!
