Death the Kid and Black Star hold off the Kishin and are able to weaken him a significant amount. Kid temporarily completes the three lines in his hair and resonates highly with Patty and Liz.
Meanwhile, Soul is overwhelmed by the black blood and Maka pulls him out. Soul eats the demon in his head and Maka and Soul both regain consciousness.
Death the Kid, Black Star, and their weapons get knocked out after weakening the Kishin.
Maka puts Soul down (in scythe form) and realizes that her main trait isn't strength or power, it is bravery and she defeats Asura (the Kishin) with one punch.
Keep in mind that this is only the anime ending, and the manga is still continuing.
