When your tattoo is peeling are you still allowed to put ointment?
Yes you should be applying a light layer of unscented ointment / lotion 2-4 times a day until your tattoo heals. You're tattoo is still healing as it's going through the pealing stage and it can take 2-4 weeks for a tattoo to heal.
Can you use aveeno lotion on a new tattoo?
It is best not to use Aveeno on a new tattoo. If the tattoo is still fresh it is best to use Aquaphor or A&D ointment.
Why does a tattoo still hurt after one week?
Its going to take a while to heal... just make sure your keeping it clean and moist using bacitracin or Aquaphor healing ointment.
How do you treat acne on a new tattoo?
You leave the pimples alone. If you pop or pick at them, you will wind up ruining your new piece of art. Use soap and water and lightly wash it, then use a towel and pat it dry. Do Not Scrub It!!! You will end up losing most of the ink if you do that. Same thing when it starts to peel. Don't pick it.
Can you go for a bath after having a new tattoo for over a month?
Definitely. The reason you're not supposed to take a bath while a tattoo is healing is because it soaks the scab and early on can cause more ink to seep out. If your still peeling, try not to soak the whole time, but other than that your tattoo is basically healed.

You can use Cocoa Butter or Shea Butter, they are both very good for aftercare. Many people are using the wrong aftercare these days. Many people are still using petrolium based products such as A&D ointment, Bacitracin and Neosporin. These are some of the worst aftercare products to use on your Tattoo. They do not absorb into the skin to condition it, they sit on top. Think of it as a liquid saran wrap. Your tattoo must be able to breath in order to heal. Covering your tattoo with anything like saran wrap, bandages, or a petroleum product can have a drawing effect and cause color loss in your Tattoo. Also, many people breakout with the use of petroleum products. Desenex Ointment cannot be found on Amazon, CVS online, or Walgreens online. It appears to have been discontinued.

Yes when the tattoo is new and the is still raw. This will fade after time

I had a tattoo done on Thurs It's now Saturday and the scab is a little bit bumpy and the skin around is a little red. It's not sore oozing puss or warm to the touch but could it still be infected?
no its not infected its just healing. put a and d ointment on it to keep the scabing to a minimum.
Can a minor get a tattoo with parental consent in Virginia?
Yes, but I'm still trying to figure out which tattoo shops will do it. Some tattoo artists think it's unethical to tattoo minors regardless of law.
