Usually just below the loading breech.
It depends on the model, but usually it is right on the barrel or the receiver. If it is really old it may not have a serial number. For a time Benjamin and Sheridan did not serialise their rifles.
What condition is it in, both mechanically and physically. That determines the value
You have given me all the information except the model. Sheridan has several different models at different prices
I have seen these sell from $50 to $600 depending on model and condition. Most are in the $90 - 100 range. Have a look at www.proxibid.com (sheridan pellet) and search the archives for 2008, it should give you a better idea what you gun is worth.
Benjamin made this model from 1946 to 1985, but did not start serializing them until 1957. I also have a Benjamin Franklin that has no serial number. Before 1957 it is not possible to set an exact date. Just know it's OLD. The 137 is a .177 caliber pellet pistol the 132 is a .22 caliber pistol and the 130 is a BB pistol.
Impossible to answer.
The lower the serial number the younger the pistol is
Crosman air gun company owns both the Benjamin and Sheridan line of airguns. 1. Go to the Crosman home page 2. Click on Crosman University in the lower left. 3. Open up "Benjamin Product dates." 4. Scroll down to the "Sheridan Serial numbers" and locate your serial number and the Year it was manufactured.
The C9 was discontinued in 2012. But I think yours is much older. Sheridan had a very unusual past ( too long to go into here) I suggest you go to the CROSMAN web site and give them the serial number and ask them for information on you rifle. Call them. Crosman owns both Sheridan and the Benjamin line of airguns
