Just got lip pierced and the piercer used an all plastic stud Is that bad?

Well it's not bad, it's cheap, but it's not bad. Here's the benefits of using bioplast, the piercing will swell for the first 5 days or so, the bioplast should afford you some room during this swelling stage. Once the swelling goes down the bioplast will be too long, at that point you can purchase a proper metal labret stud to replace the bioplast stud. Bioplast was developed for the piercing industry as an alternative to metal studs for the initial piercing allowing the bioplast to be cut to the proper size to allow for swelling. Keep in mind that the bioplast will wear out and will need to be changed down the road, that's when you want to look a properly sized metal stud that won't wear out. I have used bioplast for some piercing that I feel need the extra room due to swelling, so it's not a bad thing.

Is it safe to get a labret lip piercing done with a bioflex bar first off because I hate metal?

Do you mean bioplast? Most piercers will if you ask. Bioplast can be autoclaved so it's fine for initial jewelry.

Are retainers good for an unhealed lip piercing?

Ive had my lip piercing done for 3 1/2 weeks, I ordered a lip retainer when school told me to take out my metal stud. I went to my trusted piercer and ask them to put in my retainer , they had mega trouble getting it in (even with Vaseline ) and told me to go home and try in a couple days after the piercing was less irritated ( during my time at the piercers , my piercing went red, and swollen) ... The next day I sea salt soaked it, and rubbed alot of vaseline on my piercing and the retainer , it slipped in after 2 tries... About half an hour my piercing wasn't red , and the swelling went straight down again . I think retainers are excellent ... My piercing is healing alot quicker then my sisters lip piercing ( shes always had metal bars) . Just be careful not to irritate it, have a couple attempts and if not going in then leave it till the next day. But overall , go for it! First off, don't use vaseline. Its WAY too thick and prevents proper ventilation so it actually makes things worse. You can use vitamin E oil as lubrication instead. Glass or bioplast retainers are fine o use because they can autoclaved. Go to yourpiercer and they should have some in stock.

Is it possible to hide your tongue piercing with tongue colord studs when you first get it done?

No the retainers do not provide enough room for the swelling that you will encounter in the first 72 hours post piercing, you need to have a barbell first, then you can go to a retainer in about 2 to 3 weeks time.

How is the best way to hide lip piercing from a judge?

Get a retainer. You can use acrylic but I think glass works best. It wont completely hide it but its better than nothing. You can find them online but look around at your local piercing shops first :)

Can you get a clear stud when you first pierce your nose?

Well for the first piercing you need to know that piercing guns are not to be used to pierce nostrils. OK got that out of the way now for the where, any body piercing studio will be happy to do your piercing for you so research the places, go in have a chat and find the place you feel most comfortable at. Now for the what, nostril screws are the best for the first time piercing. They allow room for cleaning which is very important second they are comfortable, third they are less apt to be pulled or snagged causing them to come out. Avoid discussions about nose bones, these are a straight shaft jewellery piece that can easily be pulled out of the piercing (usually when you don't want them pulled out). Stick to the nostril screw, the first couple of weeks you will notice the screw becoming looser in the piercing, this is a good thing this indicates that the piercing is healing correctly. You will also have a whitish yellow discharge on the piercing, this is normal and will ease off as the piercing heals. Two or three weeks in you can go back to the studio and have the nostril screw tightened, they take the screw out bend it slightly and put it back in this takes away some of the slop and motion from the jewellery and makes it much more comfortable. So hit the yellow pages and check out "Body Piercing" and "Tattoos" (some tattoo studios also do body piercing) Happy Piercings!!

Is ptfe and bioplast as a tongue ring better that the metal?

There are benefits to using them once the piercing has healed, however a properly sized piercing done with a steel shaft will allow the piercing to heal faster. Keeping the piercing straight during the healing period will allow the piercing to discharge and season up faster, plastics and Teflon tend to allow the tongue to bend them, this can be problematic during the healing period. Folks also tend to goof around with the piercing where if metal were in place they wouldn't be able to bend the jewellery and further irritate the piercing. Another point to keep in mind is the step down barbell needs to be used after the first two weeks, this should also be metal to allow for the discharging to occur during the last 4 weeks of the initial healing period. Plastics have there place but should only be used after the piercing has gone through the first 6 weeks post piercing with metal shafts. Plastic will be bitten, played with and bent, the last thing you want is to have a client goofing around with a new piercing and damaging the barbell or biting it off. They don't fool with metal that way because it's impossible to due to the swelling. Once the swelling is eased they will goof around but they know they have metal in the piercing and damage to the teeth is a real ever present danger.

Can you wear a nipple ring if you got it pierced with a bar?

Nipple piercings are straight piercings regardless of what jewellery is in the piercing when it was first done, the barbell allows the piercing to discharge and affords room for cleaning better than a ring does. Don't let anyone tell you that if the piercing is done with a curved needle the piercing is curved, that a line of BS. Once the piercing is healed you can change over to what is called a "D" ring this ring has a straight section that goes through the piercing and is by far more comfortable than a standard ring. It has the appearance of a ring but the straight segment allows the ring to be moved without twisting a curvature in the piercing like you would with a standard ring. Ultimately for day to day wear the barbell is going to be your jewelery of choice, for comfort and discretion.

What can go wrong with an idustrial pierceing?

Piercing through the cartilage of the ear is always a risk, however to do an industrial piercing it is mainly just hugely painful. As you first need to pierce the first hole with a long needles and carry it on through the second hole, to make sure it is straight. Meaning dragging the needle through the already sore first hole.

When you first get your piercing, with any piercing, the people that do the piercing they use their own equipment and normally you choose they kind of stud you want. So yes you do have to get a stud first. Normally you have to wait 6 weeks before you can change any piercing, just so your skin can get used to it and also to decrease the risk of an infection.
