When I went back to my piercing place where I got my cartilage pierced, they told me the lump was due to me sleeping on the pierced ear. They told me from now on try not to sleep on that ear as the lump is due to the pressure of your earring pushing up against the skin.

To get rid of a cartilage piercing bump:

1) All you have to do is buy some aspirin and then use one tablet and crush it (into eg a bowl).

2) Then add a tiny bit of cold water.

3) Then mix it together and it should turn into a sort of paiste.

4) Then apply this onto the cartilage bump, using a cotton bud or something. (but try not to get it on any other part of your skin).

5) Keep doing this once a day everyday until the bump dissapears. Mine took me three days to go.

What is does piercing your ear cartilage means?

No, it means that you have a cartilage piercing. All meaning has been lost by pop culture. It may have a great meaning to you, but to everyone else it shouldn't mean anything more than the obvious.

Why does the cartilage piercing still hurt after three months and what is the bump on the back of the ear next to the hole?

The cartilage takes a long time to heal I've had mine done for over a year and it still really hurts and has not healed properly. I've still got the original earring in and i wouldn't change it until it is healed fully. The bump on the back of your ear is from getting it done with a gun instead of a hollow needle. It's all the skin and stuff shoved to the back.

Will the bump over tragus piercing go away?

Its probably Hypertrophic scarring. which is very common wit any cartilage piercing. Go to walmart o a drugstore and get a bottle of Tea Tree Oil. It's like $5 for at least a years supply. Just use a q-tip and dab a bit on the bump every day after you clean your piercing in the morning. The oil will dry up the bump and it'll flake off until its gone. Don't overload on the oil because it'll dry the piercing out. Try your best to get it on the bump and not on or in the piercing.

How long does cartilage take to heal?

When you pierce your cartilage, it is supposed to do a good job of healing. However, there are plenty of people who find that their cartilage piercings heal in a different way - with a keloid, or bump, on the back or front of the piercing.

Is okay for there to be a bump under the skin right after you get a industrial piercing?

No. This is due to theprocedure of the piercing, needles can hang up once they pierce the cartilage and in doing so they can pull the pericondrial layer away from the cartilage thus leaving a lump. If the piercer spots this they can apply pressure to the tissue, this allows the pericondrial layer to reattach to the cartilage. New industrial piercings should if at all possible, not be moved for a few hours post piercing to allow the exit points to settle and reattach to the cartilage. Once a lump has formed at an exit point it's hard to get it to reattach to the cartilage if it's left too long.

Is it normal to have bump next to a closed tongue piercing?

No Having any form of lump or bump next to a closed piercing indicates there is some form of issue with the piercing. This also depends on how long the jewellery has been out of the piercing and how long you had the piercing before removing the jewellery. If you develop any pain or discomfort seek the assistance of your doctor.

How do you get rid of bump around your dimple piercing?

A bump around your dimple piercing is the body guarding the piercing, the surrounding tissue toughens as the piercing heals. This will ease off as the piercing heals, ensure you are rinsing the piercing daily under running water (best done in the shower after shampoo and conditioner as these tend to irritate the piercing). Should you have serious concerns contact your body piercer and let him/her have a look at it.

How do you get rid of the bump by my nose piercing?

try to put tee tree oil on it

I have a small bump on the exit of my conch piercing its new its not red or irritated it can hurt if i bump it though so i have tea tree oil how should i use it?

Use a q-tip and just dab the bump with the oil. Use it after you clean your piercing. I usually apply it twice a day but if that's too harsh for your piercing, only use it once a day. You don't want it to go inside the piercing, just on the bump. The oil will dry out the bump and it'll start flaking off in layers. If the tea tree oil doesn't affect it, it could be the jewelry. Especially if its a ring and gets hit often.
