"normal" is a tough question in healthcare, if it is more than a week late I would take a PT, and if that is negative call your doctor.

ANSWER Sometimes you can have a longer cycle than 'normal'... for instance, I go through phases of having 28 or 33 day cycles, and then all of a sudden I will have a 49 day cycle... If it is out of the ordinary for you, it might be worth checking it out with a pregnancy test. However, stress, or even flights can set you out of synch. I would also say if you period come every month at the same time as 26, 28, or 30 days for the last 6 to 12 months. If it does not appear with the window of your schedule period the take a pregnancy test. If negative contact you GYN sometimes your cycle could change or level of stress going on in your life at the time

How long is it normal for your period to be late?

It's generally not normal for your period to be late - typically your menstrual cycles will follow a pattern and it's normal for there to be around a weeks variation from your average menstrual cycle. If your period is later than predicted how long it is delayed depends on why it is late, if you are sexually active you may want to take a pregnancy test to confirm whether you could be pregnant or not, otherwise it's not a concern until you've gone three months without menstruating.

Is there a possibility that a woman can be pregnant and have a normal period if she had intercourse 2 days after her period and her cycle is normally 35 to 40 day?

Although strange things can happen, it would be extremely unlikely given the combination of a very long cycle length and the apparently normal period.
