The Remington model 722 rifles were made from 1948-1962.To get the exact year of production,Remington used a barrel date letter code which can be found just ahead of the receiver on the barrel. This will be a 2,or 3 letter code. Then go to Remington,s web site and find the letter code system and date your rifle to the correct year.I have 2 Remington model 722 rifles, one in 300Savage caliber and the other in .244 Rem.caliber and would not sell either one. They are wonderful and accurate rifles. No such model. Winchester did not make a 'Model 1901 single shot .22 pump-action rifle.' They made a Model 1900, Model 1902 and Model 1904, which were all single-shot bolt-action rifles, and they made the Model 1890 and Model 1906 which were slide-action rifles but had tubular magazines.
