A common way is to tighten the voluntary muscles that control urine flow (the external urethral sphincter), by pressing in, crossing your legs, or squeezing your legs together. This will only work until the muscles tire or the pressure from the bladder becomes too great.

It is not healthy to hold back urine flow for a long time. This can cause your bladder to distend and invites tissue damage or infection. It also tires and stresses the abdominal muscles.

How you can tell those who need to go

When sitting, they rock back and forth with legs squeezed together. If standing, they sway on their feet. (Crossing your legs while swaying on your feet is very obvious.) This should be addressed immediately.

Meaning if someone saw them doing that, they'd tell them to go immediately. Either that or they won't be able to hold it any longer. Most would try anything rather than hold their privates, especially in front of someone else! (That would be the most embarrassing thing ever.)

If There's No Possible Bathroom or time to go, or privacy time:

The smartest thing to do is find a towel *that's thick* Place it between your legs and wet it. Make sure if people are around you *You don't make any noise and make sure the towel sits properly or else they'll know what your doing -- another embarrassing thing. AND it can be difficult if there are many people around. or if your not comfortable with the idea of purposely wetting a towel. *Don't do it all the time people will soon start to wonder what you do when you sneak away* If you have to in order to pee in the towel in private. *What should you do with it when your done? Simply wash it or throw it out* Use an old towel or a pillow that no one's using.
