Who is the best starting Pokemon in Firered?

I believe that bulbasaur is the best for beginners because he destroys the first two gyms. I chose Squirtle and he was able to get me past the first two easily, and for Lt. Surge, I caught a Dugtrio in Diglett Cave and destroyed him. Don't worry about Bulbasaur when battling Gary, because Dig will KO it if you caught a Diglett/Dugtrio. Charmander is the hardest to get past the gyms with because it sucks against the first two and the last and is average against the seventh. So, Bulbasaur for beginners, Squirtle for veterans, and Charmander for experts

The best I think is Charmander. My bro got though the 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 with him. Train him super hard and he will get super strong now my brother has a Mewtoo ! Before battling the first gym, get him to level 18 so he envoles then when you go though Mt.Moon make him in his 20s and different the next. When going to the Elite Four make him at level 80 or above. Since the fire doesn't work very well againest ice get a eletirc Pokemon to fight the first guy. By the way my bros team is Syther Mewtoo Charzaid Zapdos Jolten Drangonair

Alakazam for non legendaries b/c he has best sp. attack u can teach him psycich, shadow ball, thunderbolt or whatever. mewtwo is best overall.

I would go for Mudkip, because when it evolves into Marshtomp, it is a Ground and Water type, the others just stay Grass type or Fire type.
