Well... you can get a cat or dog. You will get the dog at the beginning of the game. You can choose the pointy eared dog or the long eared dog. I would perfer the pointy eared one. Now the cat is harder to get. To get the cat you must get it from the rich, old lady at the top of the village, anywho she will come to your house one day and will give you the the cat. And that's how you get the pets on harvest moon a wonderful life.
There are some other differences. -The largest field is available from the start in A Wonderful Life. You can buy a dog from either Grady (in Bluebell) or Kana (in Konohana). You can also get different colors of the dog in the following years but the only problem is that you can only get 6 pets not including the owl and you can never remove those 6 pets you have chose so choose the color of pets or type you want wisely.
You can buy pets in either Konohana or Bluebell, where you buy horses. You CA but them t any point in the game, but make sure you re naming/ buying the pet that you want because you can't sell them. Cats-herd chicken Small dogs-herd sheep/alpacas Big dogs-herd cows

Just look around your farm.
Besides your own animals you will see various wild animals scattered around the Forget-Me-Not Valley. The wild animals are there just to add charm to the area. You can not own the animals as pets, and the animals do not indicate better fishing times like in A Wonderful Life.
you an only get a dog and a pig as your pets, but you can also raise sheep, cows, horses, and chickens.

Squirrel and bird ( I think a crow)
You start out with a pet dog and cat. If you consider your farm animals as pets, you can have cows, sheep, ducks, chickens. There are animals in the wild that you can see, such as the turtle, but you cannot tame them.
