What is the best move set for Mewtwo?

First of all, EV train the Mewtwo for the best results. A good Modest or Timid nature would work best although the Timid nature is probably the better nature. As fort he EVs, give it 252 Sp. Attack EVs, 252 Speed EVs, and 4 HP EVs. As for the move set, let's jump right into it.

Mewtwo's Moves:

- Psychic/Psystrike (If you have the option of Psystrike go with that. Psystrike is a generation 5 exclusive move so if you are using Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/Heart Gold/Soul Silver or lower, your best option is Psychic. It is strong and reliable in accuracy and will normally take down most opponents typically in two to three shots if not one.)

- Shadow Ball (A nice Ghost type offensive move that helps Mewtwo deal with Ghost types that try to overwhelm it and other Psychic type that try to counter it as well. It's base power is 80 which is decent, but when used with Mewtwo's awesome Sp. Attack stat, it becomes a force to be reckoned with. There is also a small chance of lowering the target's Sp. Defense stage by one.)

- Ice Beam (Great move with a chance of freezing your target Pokemon. Takes care of those pesky Grass type Pokemon that try to Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, Poison Powder, or Spore you. Also counters almost any of the very popular Dragon types including Garchomp, Dragonite, Salamence, Flygon, and even Rayquaza!)

- Taunt (What..the...heck....taunt? Well actually yes taunt. Mewtwo relies on it's ability to outspeed others and therefore take less hits. If Mewtwo is somehow slowed by Stun Spore or Thunder Wave, it becomes very vulnerable. If put to sleep, you must for it to wake up fast. If poisoned, the opponent has the option to stall you out or make you switch. Let's not forget stage traps such as spikes, toxic spikes, stealth rocks, and others. How can I avoid these things? Easy, taunt. Taunt is a move that only allows the target to use attacking moves. This pretty much ruins Forretress, Skarmory, Shuckle, and some other trappers. Also Pokemon that use Toxic well like Umbreon and Swampert wont' have a choice but to either attack head on or switch. Taunt basically eliminates the majority of Mewtwo's weaknesses.)
