Alpha is the final boss of the game, located at the WWW base. It is the "Alpha" version of the internet, before the bugs could be worked out of it. The bugs coalesced to give Alpha a basic level of intelligence and instinct, and after a brief flare up of problems leading to the supposed execution of Bass, it took over all devices linked to it, leading to the six-month long Alpha Rebellion (or Revolt). When this was over, Alpha's creator installed Guardian in its core and sealed it away in Sci-Lab behind the Tetragates. It is essentially omnipotent and will eventually destroy the world.
