Yes. If your monster is in attack position and you attack a monster that has more attack points than yours, your monster is destroyed and you take Battle Damage to your Life Points equal to the difference between your opponent's monster's Attack Points and your monster's Attack Points.
There are many ways to lose life points. Every player starts out with 2000 at the beginning of the duel. Some cards say to inflict this much damage to your or your opponent's life points often after a certain requirement has been fulfilled or to pay as a cost for a certain effect. The most common example of losing life points though, would be if one player attacked another player with a monster with atk points higher than the opponent's atk position monster. The difference between their atk points would be inflicted to the person with the lower atk point monster.
Monster cards do not have life points and there is no concept of 'damaging' a monster card except for battle. In battle a monster either dies or it does not, there is no accumulating damage such as in Magic the Gathering. A monster can fight off an infinite amount of monsters that are weaker than it, but is destroyed if it battles with one of equal or greater power.
Your monster is destroyed if the monster you attack is in attack position, and you lose life points.
Under the Master Rules, both players start with 8000 Life Points each at the start of every official Duel.
no, paying life points is considered a cost, so it is not effect damage.
Yes, you have to pay. This is because Tornado Wall ONLY prevents battle damage from being done, while paying a cost for wall of revealing light is counted as paying a cost, therefore excluding the protection that it provides.
No it is not because it says "other cards on the field."
Yes! You may loose life points fairly quickly because of special abilities, but the abilities are good. However, there is a card called 'Brain Research Lab' which lets you activate a psychic monster's effect without paying life points. It also lets you summon an additional psychic-type monster per turn. This is a field spell card, but every time you use one of it's effects a counter is placed on it. If the card is destroyed, you take damage equal to the number of counters x 1000 life points. The REALLY good news is that there are two good cards to change that last effect in your favor. These are: Prime Material Dragon (level 6, effect): Gain life points equal to the amount of damage you would have taken by a card effect. Barrel Behind the Door (trap): Active only when you would have taken damage by a card effect. Inflict the damage to your opponent's life points instead. It's really easy to suddenly get many counters on Brain Research Lab, and when your opponent uses Mystical Space Typhoon and thinks "Yes, OWNED!", you can instantly inflict many, many thousands of damage to your opponent with the above trap card, or gain that many life points instead of losing them...or both.
Answer: The "damage calculation is calculated normally" text in Spirit Reaper(SR) means if your SR is attacked while it's on attack position then you will lose LP for that battle but SR won't be destroyed and sent to the graveyard as a result of battle because of it's card effect.Answer!"Damage calculation" is the damage a player receives either due to a monster attacking or by a card effect. Damage calculation is done during the Damage Step of the Battle Phase. If a card's effect reads something like, When this Defense Position card is attacked and the ATK of the attacking monster is lower than the DEF of this card, after Damage Calculation destroy the attacking monster., then that means after damage is inflicted upon a player the rest of its effect activates destroying the attacking monster. More examples-Reflect Bounder: When card is face-up Attack Position and is attacked by a monster on your opponent's side of the field, before damage calculation is resolved in the Damage Step, this card inflicts damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the ATK of the attacking monster. This means before damage would be inflicted upon either player by the attack during the Damage Step, the monster's effect activates inflicting damage. Then damage is calculated. The Hunter With 7 Weapons: When this card is Normal Summoned, declare 1 Type of monster. When battling that Type of monster, increase the ATK of this card by 1000 points during Damage Calculation. What this translates into is that during the Damage Step, simple increase this card's attack by 1000.
Amanda Todd took her own life. Why? she could no longer envision a life without the pain others were inflicting on her, and she lost the hope of life.
"Self-Destruct Button" requires that: # Your Life Points are lower than your opponent # The different between you and your opponet's Life Points is at least 7000 So you cannot have 7000 more Life Points and be able to activate "Self-Destruct Button". Once this card's effect resolves, you and your opponent's Life Points become 0 - this is not considered losing or gaining any Life Points just the Life Points "changing" (this means that cards like "Barrel Behind the Door" that deal with damage will not work). The duel ends in a draw.
Waboku will reduce all Battle Damage to your Life Points to zero and/ or prevent your Monsters from being destroyed by battle for the turn it is activated. So yes, the first scenario you described is what will occur if you play Waboku.
No it does not activate, Neos Wiseman will be sent to the graveyard before it's effect can activate. So you won't receive any Life Points, nor will your opponement lose any.
Andro Sphinx is a level 10 LIGHT monster, Beast/Effect type, with 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF. If Pyramid of Light is active on the field, Andro Sphinx can be special summoned by paying 500 life points. Andro Sphinx cannot attack on the turn it is summoned, nor can it be special summoned from the graveyard. When Andro Sphinx destroys a defence position monster by battle, damage is dealt to the opponent's life points equal to half the destroyed monster's ATK.
yes, you can special summon him by paying 1000 life points.
Yes. If your monster is in attack position and you attack a monster that has more attack points than yours, your monster is destroyed and you take Battle Damage to your Life Points equal to the difference between your opponent's monster's Attack Points and your monster's Attack Points.
