Flareon is only good if you have the right move-set and the the right item working to cover up some of the weaker points.

A) Moves 1. Fire Fang - a good move because of the very high Attack stat of Flareon, and to make sure you have a good fire type move.

2. Superpower - It is fighting type move that has a base strength of 120.

3. Swords Dance - This will raise Flareon's Attack stat by two levels, ensuring that it only takes one hit to finish the opponent off.

4. A move of your choice something like Quick Attack to make sure that Flareon attacks first.

B) Items A quick claw would work best because it would allow Flareon to attack first, covering up the relatively weak Speed stat.
