If you were to sell the Ore (120GP) or Bars 276GP) each, it would take...
- 8334 Iron Ores.
- 3624 Iron Bars.
...to gain 1,000,000GP.
Note that if you were to buy the Ore at 120gp, smelt into a Bar and sell for 276gp, you would make 156gp per Bar (Assuming none are lost in the refining process). Using this, it would take...
- 6411 Iron Ore to be made into Iron Bar. (Granting 80,317.5 Smithing Exp).
...to make 1,000,000GP.

Iron can be commonly found anywhere below four blocks above sea level. As of the 1.8 update, Iron seems to spawn much more often in natural caves. If you find one iron be sure to dig around it as iron nearly always spawns in clumps of two or more. ~ZachMeyer94 That, and also, as you make a new world, click on 'More World Options...' and in the bar that asks for a seed type 'Spock.' Don't ask why, but it works every time I try it; you spawn with a white tree in front of you, turn right and there is a patch of rock sunk in the ground, go down the tunnel on your right and you should find lots of Iron, and lots of Coal at the entrance to make torches. :) ~Sandwich3

Candles are softer than iron bars because they are made of wax which has a lower hardness compared to iron. Iron bars are more flexible than marble pillars because iron is a ductile material that can deform and bend without breaking, while marble is a brittle material that tends to break under stress.
Fiber One bars make you pass gas so much because of the fiber content.
