couple hours, but you can use it while charging with the cable attached during that 2 hours.
It does not take long for it to get enough of a charge for the red lights to work. Plus when the item is plugged in it has power and will work as a controller while it is charging.
Yes if you are using the PS3 to charge it. You should also know that if you do not go to your settings menu and set the PS3 to automatically turn off the controller it will always need a charge because it will stay on when you turn your PS3 off.
Your controller should come without any charge, after you have charged the controller it will be connected to the PS3. If you had it with charge for some reason, just connect it to your PS3 with the USB cable.
No you need to set your PS3 to automatically turn off your controllers and if you plan on charging them between uses set the PS3 auto off for long enough to allow the charge and make sure you do not turn the PS3 system off when you quit playing. If you turn the PS3 off it will not charge the controller and then go off. My Sony HDTV has a USB port and I use that to keep the controller charged as any USB port can be used to charge a controller. I also purchased a pair of Sony Controller cables like the original equipment at amazon for only $10 although sometimes the price increases

Plug it into your PS3 with USB cable. The console needs to be on to charge the controller.
Even during use, it should fully charge in about 2 hours.

Charging a PlayStation 3 controller is a lot simpler than you might think it is. With a PlayStation 3 comes a cord that plugs a controller into the system. Hook it up and your controller is already charging. If it is not, one of three things is happening: 1) The cord is broken or faulty. 2) The controller is broken or faulty, or the battery needs to be replaced. 3) The system is turned off. If you address all these problems and the controller is still not charging, contact Sony.
Xbox 360 yes ps3 maybe if the controller slot is a usb slot
Either you need to:- - Charge the controller. - Turn the PS3 on and off again. - Put new batteries in the controller. - Or if you have more than 1 controller then you can use another one.
