How long does it take for a Pokemon to level up in the day care?

The rate is one step for one experience point. Every step you take, your Pokemon gains one experience, but it can be easier to gain experience with your bike, because it's faster!

Remember, the higher the level the more steps you'll need and the more money you would need to get your Pokemon out of the Daycare.

Tips:

Ruby/Sapphire Daycare Trick: Use a Mach or Acro Bike and hold the up button from below the slide slope. If you're using a Mach Bike, don't go at full speed. With this method, your Pokemon should be level 50 in about 12 hours (About 180 experience per minute). It's best to find anything to hold down the up button and leave the game on overnight.

Emerald: Use the teleporters in the Aqua Hideout. It's slower than in Ruby/Sapphire, but it's the best way in the game. You can get 40 experience points per minute.

FireRed/LeafGreen: Use the eighth gym and use the tiles or for more experience points, use the Rocket Hideout in Celadon City.

Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: Go to Feugo Ironworks and take advantage of the tiles.

HeartGold/SoulSilver: Go to Ecruteak Gym and take advantage of the chasm.

Black/White/Black2/White2: Go to the gear station and walk into the machine

X/Y: Go to the center of Lumiose City and stick a thin coin underneath the left or the right side of the circle pad. Try to find the right spot where you won't run into the NPCs.
