The new Slim PS3 are very slow to overheat because of some of the changes to the hardware, but the never had a failure rate that would limit play to only a few hours. Send it to Sony straight away cos if you don't they will ask why you waited so long and they wont give you a new one and make sure the game is out of the system when you turn it off cos it will be stuck in the system forever and all your saved data will be gone ( You will know if the ps3 system has overheated because you Will get a red-yellow flashing light )
