You don't use the cable cord. You use an ethernet cable of either Cat 5e or Cat 6 between the PS3 and the Comcast cable modem. If something is already connected to the cable modem like a desktop PC you must either disconnect it (switching back and forth as you want to use each device) or purchase a router and connect both the desktop PC and the PS3 to the router and the router to the modem.
