The AV cable that comes with the PS3 is not for HDTV set up. You need to purchased a HDMI cable or a Sony PS3 component cable and then it should work.
Plug cable into your ps3 then into your tv (your tv must have a hd channel) then just change to the hd channel and turn it on
It could be that you don't have the cable plugged into the correct spot on your TV. If you are using the AV cable that came with the PS3 and not a Component PS3 cable 2 of the RCA plugs go for sound and only one is for Video. The AV cable that came with the PS3 is not for a HDTV connection and the settings need to be corrected. While you said you changed houses you must have also changed TV's or you would not have needed to switch from HDMI. If your new TV is an HDTV then you need to purchase a PS3 component cable if it doesn't have HDMI plugs and if not you need to change your settings on the PS3. To set the PS3 setting on the PS3 back see the PlayStation Super Secrets link which I have clip and pasted below: Hold Power button down for two beeps (while PS3 is off): Reset video to lowest settings.
In the ethernet port in the back of the ps3. You need an "ethernet cord" though. Not internet cord.
A controller, an A/V cable for standard TV, PlayStation membership, the PS3 console includes WiFi connection capability & power cord
You don't use the cable cord. You use an ethernet cable of either Cat 5e or Cat 6 between the PS3 and the Comcast cable modem. If something is already connected to the cable modem like a desktop PC you must either disconnect it (switching back and forth as you want to use each device) or purchase a router and connect both the desktop PC and the PS3 to the router and the router to the modem.
Yes. The HDMI cord or HDMI plug at the PS3 end in the A/v cable allows the PS3 to have Audio and Video. How can you say a PS3 is working without Audio and Video
plug the cord in the front. then go to accessories in the settings and go to headset and you can adjust the settings there.
Any Ethernet cord can be used to connect the PS3 with a wired connection. You cannot use a modem cable however. Check to make sure that it is an Ethernet cable and if so, yes it will work.

With the USB cord that came with the PS3 if pushing the PS3 symbol on the controller does not work
Turn off ps3 plug in ethernet cable to back of ps3 and cable box. then hit the reset button on cable box.Power on ps3 and go to network settings, internet connections, select easy and that should be it. I have charter myself and this worked for me.
Cat45 aka an ethernet cable, sold.. everywhere.
if using a wired connection you need a ethernet cable
It doesn't need any cables to work. If it's not broken it works. If you'd like it to run, however, you need a power cord; basically a power cord from a computer is what a ps3 uses. Now, if you'd like to be able to use it, you need a hdmi cable or component cables. To use a wireless controller, you'll need a usb in order to recharge it's batteries.
If the Modem was already working and for example you unplug your computer and plug in the PlayStation 3 it will work after you go to the PS3 network settings and make the connection. It will be easier on you to find a used router and plug it into the modem and then plug both the computer and PS3 into the router.
