It could be that you don't have the cable plugged into the correct spot on your TV. If you are using the AV cable that came with the PS3 and not a Component PS3 cable 2 of the RCA plugs go for sound and only one is for Video. The AV cable that came with the PS3 is not for a HDTV connection and the settings need to be corrected. While you said you changed houses you must have also changed TV's or you would not have needed to switch from HDMI. If your new TV is an HDTV then you need to purchase a PS3 component cable if it doesn't have HDMI plugs and if not you need to change your settings on the PS3.
To set the PS3 setting on the PS3 back see the PlayStation Super Secrets link which I have clip and pasted below:
Hold Power button down for two beeps (while PS3 is off): Reset video to lowest settings.
The AV cable that comes with the PS3 is not for HDTV set up. You need to purchased a HDMI cable or a Sony PS3 component cable and then it should work.
The Sony Component AV Cable will fit the PS3 super slim model.
first choice HDMI. You should only get Sony PS3 component cables if you HDTV does not have HDMI input
because its not connected correctly but ps3 always break
Your remote works on a different system than the Bluetooth the PS3 uses. The HDMI sync on my slim PS3 ( Fat PS3s lack the hardware for HDMI Sync) allows me to use my Sony HDTV Remote and also my Sony Home Theater Remote even though they are not Bluetooth to control the Playing of DVDs and Blue Ray Discs and the selections from the PS3 menu bar. I can not sync my Cable remote to do anything on the PS3 even though I can get it to work some features for the Home Theater and HDTV If you want to sync the PS3 optional remote you need to plug it in to the PS3 with the charging cable to get it to sync with the PS3
No any good 20$ cable will work fine, but just go buy a Sony cable from Walmart.
Plug in the A/V cable or purchase an optional PS3 component cable and set the Sony Wega to the input you selected

I think that you just plug it in with USB cable and it will come up under music but iPod touch does not work at all
Connecting the PS3 to a HDTV with HDMI inputs is best rather than only good when using an HDMI cable. It allows a single cable to easily connect with an excellent connection and only a single plug and also allows a sync between the two devices. When I put a disc in the PS3 the TV turns on and switches to the PS3 from my Cable box. If the TV is already on it switches the HDTV from cable over to the PS3 and back when I turn off the PS3. The PS3 HDMI cable sold by Sony is a good quality cable and support all the features of the PS3, namely HDMI 1.4A with 3D video. It is also cheaper than some other HDMI cables that are sold in the TV area of most consumer electronics stores. When I purchased by HDMI cable at Walmart that store was out of the PS3 HDMI cable and I purchased the Sony Flat HDMI cable for a little more. Most named brand cables work fine and you should never pay full retail for a HDMI cable. You do not have to purchase a PS3 cable and many of the other Sony cables work fine. Currently Walmart has the Sony HDMI Cable w/ USB Cable Pack (PS3) for $34.97 and it is the same price as just the Sony 6.5' HDMI Cable (PS3) and without the extra charging cable
Yes, but a monster HDMI cable is very expensive and it would be cheaper to just trust Sony and buy a Sony PS3 HDMI cable from Walmart or other discount store
The Sony Component AV Cable will fit the PS3 super slim model.
Nope, you don't need one. You can use your controller that you use to play games. The new PS3 slim when connected to a Sony HDTV with HDMI cable will allow the Sony TV remote to work the PS3 video controls
HDMI cables can be bought at almost any electronics store. Any HDMI cable will work with your PS3, but Sony does sell an official HDMI cable. However, this official cable costs 60 US Dollars, which may be well out of the price range for many PS3 owners.
The best HDMI cable is not necessary or recommended. Walmart sells Sony PS3 HDMI cables and you to even upgrade to a higher cost and quality Sony HDMI Cable. That is what I did only because Walmart was out of the PS3 HDMI cables when I got the PS3 went to purchase a HDMI cable. I purchased a Flat Sony HDMI cable for $45. You can pay over $100 for an HDMI cable and still not have the best and not be able to tell the reception from another name brand cable sold for $20. I plugged other devices (Sony Camera, Cable Box) into the Sony BR6 HDTV with Belkin HDMI cables and get fine reception.
Yes. A USB cable is under standardization like an HDMI cable. I like to keep my PS3 components restricted to Sony and purchased the 2 pack of Sony USB cables at amazon for the PS3 for $10 that have a normal USB to plug into the PS3 and a Smaller to plug into the controller. I also went to Walmart and Purchased a Sony flat HDMI Cable for $ 40 when I got the system. I also went with the Sony Charging Station for the Move controllers from Amazon for $20. I know that other good products are available for each of my Sony Purchases and some like HDMI cable can be made to a much higher standard. For the USB 4 Port hub I chose a Belkin The same USB Sony PS3 2 Pack I purchased at amazon for $10 are now $37 and I would have just ordered the single Sony PS3 USB cable for $10
Yes you can, you would need to buy a VGA to RCA converter, or Component to RCA or just a regular VGA cable for your PS3 and viola :)
