Sure you can find games that cost less than the retail price and the prices drop over time and during sales if you shop around. If your money is tight buy used game online at a place like amazon when the game you want is at it cheapest. Prices vary greatly for the same title at least they do in the USA Personally I have never seen a game I was willing to pay over $40 for, but that may be because I know the price will drop.
