No, flip effect activate when the card is flipped, which will be by Flip Summon, or being attacked, or flipped by an effect.

Simply being destroyed while face down, will not 'flip' the monster.

Does a flip effect activate when the monster is destroyed?

Destroying a monster does not flip it. But if a monster is flipped face-up when attacked, and considered destroyed by battle, then the flip effect will still activate.

Does Sangan's effect still activate if it's tributed for a tribute summon in Yu-Gi-Oh?

Yes, Sangan's mandatory trigger will activate after the monster is summoned.

Can you still activate counter trap cards to negate cards while royal decree is in effect?

You can still activate them, but Royal Decree negates all other traps except itself, so they will be negated. You can however activate such a card like Seven Tools of The Bandit to negate the activation of Royal Decree itself and destroy it, because Royal Decree does not apply the negation effect until it resolves.

What happens if you activate Chaos Burst but your opponent's monster can't be destroyed in Yu-Gi-Oh?

There does not appear to be a ruling on Chaos Burst, however, Guard Minesis very similar to this card. The effect of this Normal Trap reads, "Activate only when a card is activated with an effect that would target and destroy 1 monster you control. Negate the effect and destroy that card. Then inflict 500 damage to your opponent." An official ruling for this card stated the following: You can Chain Guard Mines to a card that will resolve in the Graveyard, like Exiled Force. If you do, the effect of the card will be negated, but since it cannot be destroyed no damage will be inflicted.Since Chaos Bursthas wording and an effect that's very close to Guard Mines, it looks like no damage will be inflicted to your opponent if Chaos Burstfails to destroy a monster for whatever reason. Also to note is that you will still have to tribute a monster to activate the effect of Chaos Bursteven if it fails to destroy a monster.

When a monster is destroyed in Yu-Gi-Oh does its effect still work?

If the monster has a continuous effect, this ceases to apply once the monster leaves the field. If Jinzo is destroyed, for example, traps can once again be activated. If a monster has an activated effect, then chaining a destruction effect to this activation will not prevent that effect from resolving. As an example, if Chaos Sorcerer activates its Ignition Effect, or Caius the Shadow Monarch's effect is triggered, destroying them before their effects resolve, will not stop the resolution happening.Flip Effect monsters:These are the monsters that say "FLIP:" followed by their effect. When a face-down Flip Effect monster is attacked, it is flipped face-up at the start of the Damage Step, damage is calculated, and the monster is considered destroyed or not. After all of that resolves, the Flip Effect monster's effect activates. After that event resolves the Flip Effect monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard (and the Damage Step ends).(Note: Flip Summon is different than Flip Effects or effects triggered when flipped face up.)After Damage Calculation effects:Whether these effects work or not depend entirely on the type of effect. Let's say Wall of Illusion attacks and destroys a monster. Wall's effect activates after damage calculation, but since the monster was considered destroyed it does not return to the hand."Destroyed as a result of battle" monsters:Monsters like Giant Rat or Masked Dragon effects still activate at the end of the Damage Step they were destroyed as a result of battle in."When" Effect monsters:Cards like Peten the Dark Clown have effects that activate "when" it is sent to the Graveyard. But only if this is the last thing to happen! If anything resolves immediately after it is sent to the Graveyard you "miss the timing".If Peten was tributed for a Tribute Summon, the last thing that happens is the monster being summoned so its effect doesn't activate.(Confusing? Yes, but these types of cards are few and far between.)The exceptions to the above will be any resolution that specifically needs the activated monster to remain on the field, ie, the resolution somehow refers to or affects it. Elemental Hero Prisma, for example, needs to remain on the field, for his name changing effect to apply to him.

If 'Black Brutdrago' is destroyed during a chain does its effect still activate?

As an Optional Trigger, the destruction must be the last thing to happen. If it is destroyed, but something else 'happens' (a summon, a resolution, etc) before it gets chance to activate, then it has 'missed the timing' and is not allowed to activate at all.

Do ojama blues affect activate from rescue cats affect?

The two cards don't really interact as such. If the summoned Ojama Blue is destroyed by battle, then yes, it will still get its effect. However it will not trigger if destroyed in the end phase by Rescue Cat's lingering effect - it was not destroyed by battle in that case.

When a Flip Effect is activated is the monster sent to the grave before or after you resolve its effect in Yu-Gi-Oh?

An attacked flip effect monster's effect will activate after damage calculation, but before monsters destroyed by battle go to the graveyard, so it will be after the effect's resolution. Note that even though a monsters considered destroyed by battle will still be on the field at the time, it can't be returned to hand or deck by such effects.

Explain why this is true After Damage Calculation you can activate the effect of Gemini Soldier even if it is destroyed by battle source yugiohwikiacom?

If you look at the structure of the Damage Step, you see that destroyed by battle monsters only go to the graveyard at the end - things like Flip Effects activate and resolve while they are still on the field. So you will conduct Damage Calculation, and Gemini Soldier will be considered destroyed. It is still on the field though, and its effect triggers immediately after Damage Calculation. It is only after this, at the end of the damage step, does it go to the graveyard.

Does Gale Lizard still get destroyed if it's attacked by a stronger monster?

Yes. Flip Effects are applied after damage calculation. If Gale Lizard's attacked, it's flipped face-up, then you calculate damage to see if it's destroyed. Then, its effect will activate and return an opponent's monster and Gale Lizardwill be destroyed.
