in shippuuden all the characters improve their moves and perfect them.for example naruto turns the rasengan[ball of chakra] and forms into a shuriken buit the move is almost lethal to him.but in the end it is up to the naruto fan's opinion. Answer i think both of them are good. because there will be shippuden if it's didn't start with naruto right? the store began in naruto. so why would compare them. you won't understand the story of shippuden unless you watch naruto...

the difference between naruto and naruto shippunden is that everyone grows up in naruto shippunden. their is kind of more love, and everyone looks different. i dont know when this new season is coming out.

in Naruto naruto and sasuke and everyone else are much weaker. in this part naruto doesnt learn a lot and gaara starts his work as kazekage. In shippuden everyones clothes change and everyone becomes more powerful. gaara also gets kidnapped and naruto finds he has wind chakra. shippuden is way better with lots of action and akatsuki

The anime tends to stretch events out over loads of episodes, such as naruto's rasen-shruiken training (That was about 4-5 episodes in the anime and around 2-3 chapters in the manga)

Think of it like a series. Naruto happens two years before Shippuden. A the end of the Naruto series, Sasuke leaves and then Jirayia takes Naruto and trains him for two years. Shippuden picks up after the training two years later. Naruto is 16. There are some rumors that Akippuden is going to be the next in the series. That has yet to be confirmed.
