Well, Stephanie had a dream about two people, a vampire and a human girl, who were in love, but they couldn't because there was always the fact that he could kill her. So when she woke up she told her sister. Her sister pushed and pushed for her to write it down so she wouldn't forget. Then she actually began to write the book Twilight around her dream. So her inspiration for Edward was based upon her dream, and then was built from there.
