For his birthday he was given a home made cake by Hagrid and his owl, Hedwig. Sometime during the term he was given a Nimbus Two Thousand.
For Christmas he received fudge and a sweater from the Weasley's, 50p from the Dursley's, a wooden Flute from Hagrid, chocolate frogs from Hermione and his father's invisibility cloak from Dumbledore.

!!!!!!!!!!!!DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ DEATHLY HALLOWS OR THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE UNLESS YOU LIKE SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!! JK Rowling obviously didn't think of the start of Harry Potter first, or the whole of it at the same time. One of the original endings to the whole series was that Harry dies and lives with Dumbledore happily. Another is that Hermione would die in 'the battle', so Ron would commit suicide so Harry would not strive to live, so he would die, so his fans would commit suicide, so their parents would etc. and their would be one little boy and one little girl left who would call their kids things like Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Neville (which evolved into the actual end, I guess), but I think that was probably when JKR had drunk too much coffee! JK says that she knew Dumbledore was going to die for a long time, because that was almost the entire storyline for the last two books. Another ending is that Voldermort and Harry fight around the spots where Harry's parents died and Voldermort would sort of be absorbed by Harry, who would get Voldermort's skills and the skills of people who Voldermort killed. And somehow he would give the skills, like gifts. I'm not entirely sure how the epilogue of that might go.
Bella is opening her birthday gifts and she gets a paper cut. Jasper then lunges at Bella because of the blood.
Harry was going through his trunk and took out a box of chocolate cauldrons that Romilda Vane had given him. It was Ron's 17th birthday and he had been opening gifts. He thought the chocolate cauldrons were a gift and ate them. Unfortunately, they were full of an aged love potion and Ron fell under the enchantment. Harry took Ron up to Horace Slughorn's office to get an antidote. After he is cured, Slughorn gave Ron a glass of mead. The mead was intended for Dumbledore and had been poisoned(The Mead was made by Draco Malfoy). Harry found a bezoar in the office and used it to save Ron.
Joe was saving some Christmas presents from being stolen by the Grinch on top of a roof, and as he was walking away with the gifts the Grinch threw a roller-skate underneath Joe's foot. He then slipped on it and fell off the roof, breaking his legs.So to answer your question, it was The Grinch, Joe was fighting before he was paralyzed.
Companies such as Cabela's provide plenty of ideas for purchasing hunting gifts. They have a wide selections of ideas including duck decoys to trailers.
Harry Potter didn't go to Galtvort, he went to Hogwarts. His first Christmas gifts at Hogwarts were:50p from the DursleysA wooden flute from HagridFudge and a jumper from Mrs. WeasleyChocolate frogs from HermioneThe invisibility cloak from Dumbledore
i don't think it mentions it in the books or films...
I'm almost positive it was just with harry's gifts from Christmas
The gifts that Harry recieved were: Parseltongue, a very striking scar, a great amount of pain, the ability to somehow connect with Lord Voldemort(ugh), and the great joy and honor of being Voldemort's seventh Horcrux. Hmmm, fun gifts. (I think the question was about birthday- and Christmas-presents.)
The Cloak of Invisibility, the Resurrection Stone, and the Elder Wand.

I can't believe I actually looked this up! The work sock(s) appears 76 times in the Harry Potter Books. Most of them have to do with gifts, Uncle Vernon to Harry, Mrs. Weasley's gifts and socks made for house elves. And there are Dumbledore seeing socks in the mirror. They are also a handy storage place for Sneakoscopes and Luck potions.
