She suffers until Edward returns, and Jacob helps her through it. And the reason why she's suffering is because she loves him, he's suffering for the loss of her as well. That tells you how strong love can be. They make a great couple.!
Of course they do it's fictional that's why you cant find a guy like edward!!! And because vampires aren't real and if they were they wouldn't date a human because they date their own kind.
Bella suffers for a little over four months.
Bella: "You're impossibly fast. And strong. Your skin is...pale white, and ice cold. Your eyes change color...and sometimes you speak like - like you're from a different time. You never eat or drink anything, you don't go into the sunlight. How old are you?" Edward: "Seventeen." Bella: "How long have you been seventeen?" Edward: "... a while." Bella: "I know what you are." Edward: "Say it...out loud. Say it." Bella: "Vampire." Edward: "Are you afraid?" Bella: "No."
There are many times when Edward reads Jacob's mind but here is the one I think your talking about: when they are at Fork's Highschool Jacob is torturing edward with his mind. HE is thinking about Bella when edward left her. seeing her in pain like that tortures him
Bella and Edward go to Isle Esme for their honey moon in Breaking Dawn. On the island, Bella and Edward become...Intimate for the first time while Bella is still human. A few days later, Bella discovers that she is pregnant with Edward Cullen vampire-hybrid child. They name the child Renesmee.
Short answer, "yes." Long answer: Yes and no. In the books, Edward's protective attitude towards Bella brings unnecessary harm and turmoil. As the character often points out himself, had he left her alone, she would be far safer. However, the problem with the characters is that you can't apply simple human terms to what is going on in the story. It's not a simple love story about two races meeting and finding an understanding. In fact, "overprotective" probably isn't a good word to describe the way that Edward acts around Bella. Edward constantly puts himself between Bella and danger, as well as Bella and other things he doesn't deem right for her. His actions are more "possessive" than "protective," and it shows if you look into the work. Edward admitted that he could not give up on Bella, and that if he could not have her, he would rather die (as shown by his trip to Italy). The behavior is typically seen in stalkers, though he managed to avoid the stereotypical "If I can't have you, no one can!" and left Bella alive before his attempted suicide. There is also the fact that Edward tried to limit Bella's interaction with people he deemed "unfavorable" or "unsafe" for her. His actions may look like he is being overprotective, but it seems to be more of a "protecting what's mine" situation. Of course, Bella doesn't really help his overprotective/possessive conflicts. She is either trying to stay as close to him as possible, or trying to rebel to see other people. She cant make up her mind about what she wants, and comes across as a victim of Stockholm Syndrome that is still conflicted about remaining with the abuser/keeper.
she asked him how old he was he said im 17. she asked how long have you been 17? he replied a while.
Edward and Bella are able to live forever, as vampires are immortal.

In New Moon, Edward believes that it is too dangerous for Bella to be around him because of Jasper, Edward's brother, that tries to attack Bella. At the start of the book, it is Bella's eighteenth birthday party. And while Bella is opening a gift, she gets a paper cut, and Jasper (unable to control himself) suddenly starts to attack Bella. The Cullens move away from Forks, Washington to protect Bella from vampires. Then, strongly depressed, Bella seeks comfort in a family friend, Jacob Black. Soon, Bella discovers that Jacob Black is a werewolf and hangs out with him more. Doing activites, such as riding a motorcycle helps Bella remember Edward more, resulting in her missing him more. Jacob Black, and his fellow werewolfs, protect Bella from vampires. And as a long period of miscommunication between Bella and Edward, Edward starts to think Bella jumped off a cliff and died from some reason. So Edward flies to Italy for the Volutri, a group of peace-making vampires, to kill him. Meanwhile, Alice, Edward's sister, and Bella fly to Italy to stop Edward. Fourtanely, they arrive just in time to save him. Then, the Volutri soon finds out that Bella, a human who knows of the exsistence of vampires, must be killed or turned into a vampire as well. When returning to Forks, Washington the Cullens strongly vote on Bella turning into a vampire later. And followed after that, Edward proposes to Bella in the end. And it is continued in Eclipse. Basically he left so Bella could have a normal human life. so she would b safe.

He tries to kill it but Bella wont let him and he talks to carlisle about it and they both try to kill the baby but Bella called rosalie for help and rosalie will do ANYTHING for a baby even if that means killing Bella (which she does technically because she sat there and guarded her so she could die) and so edward and Jacob have a one-on-one talk and edward tells Jacob he can have as many babies with Bella as long as he can talk her out of having the baby
