So start with a Bing or Google search and start reading, many websites have links to excellent material on tattoos and piercings. Elaine Angel has an excellent book on body piercing that covers some of the history surrounding body piercing. PFIQ (Piercing Fans International Quarterly) has many good articles on body piercing. Jim Ward the founder of Gauntlet has a couple of books about body piercing which are again and excellent read. So don't be lazy, do a search and look it up.
