How long does it take for a tragus piercing to close?

It depends on how long you have the piercing/ how healed it is. If you have it for longer than a year and it is all healed, it will usually stay open for awhile. Your tragus is just like the cartilage on the outer rim of your ear.

Does Claire's do auricle tragus or forward helix piercings My sister got her cartilage done there but can they do more than that?

Claire's does not do any type of body piercing. They only pierce the ears.

Do cartilage piercings hurt more than a tetanus shot or a finger prick?

Depends. I got my cartilage pierced with a gun and was like being stapled. The hole closed and I redid it myself with a piercing needle. The piercing needle was 20 guage and did not hurt as much. Hard to compare to finger pricks as the nerves feel differentally in both parts of the body. (When self piercing, one side bled a lot but did not hurt. The other side did not bleed but hurt a lot more. It wasnt so much the sticking the needle through the skin as it was pushing the needle through the cartilage, even using a foam backing to aid the procedure. Anyways, they both healed well.)

Does getting your tragus pierced hurt?

It is a little bit more painful than getting your cartilage pierced which is extremely thick cartilage. if you haven't felt that pain, I wouldn't advise getting it done. However, it is a super cool piercing!! :) good luck ;D

Does a Rook piercing close faster than a Tragus piercing?

No, that's wrong. Cartilage takes about a year to heal completely. I had my rook done a month and a half ago and I changed it. And then it got infected:/ Kinda sad. Anyways, my rook also closed in about 10 minutes cause I had to take it out.

Does it hurt when you have your tragus pierced?

Not really. It's all a matter of how high your pain tolerance is really. It shouldn't hurt more than an ordinary cartilage piercing. Just make sure it's done with a needle and not with a piecing gun.

Does your ear have to be a certain size to get your tragus pierced?

It's called a Tragus. The lip of the ear canal should be predominant and should move freely to cover the canal when pushed by the index finger. If the tragus is too small then healing and rejection could be problems. Only a professional body piercer can make that call by looking at your tragus. Do not pierce this with a piercing gun, there are a great deal of nerves and vessels in this area of the ear and a piercing stud can and will do serious damage that can not be repaired. Piercing guns are for ear lobes only.

What piercing hurts more. A tragus rook or snug?

Well considering the tight quarters you have the piercer working in, they can be uncomfortable but not unbearable. We are of course talking about having it done correctly by a professional body piercer and not some joker with a piercing gun. All cartilage is over pierced (or should be) which is to say the piercing is done with a needle one size bigger than the jewellery entering the piercing. this is so the cartilage will allow the skin to heal around the newly formed piercing between the cartilage and the jewellery going into the piercing. So sort term localized minor bleeding should be expected. Other than that it's pretty straight forward from a piercers prospective and therefore easy for you to handle. Yes I read your notes! Cheers.

Is bleeding during cartilage piercing normal?

A little bleeding is to be expected with cartilage piercings, the incision in the cartilage needs to be larger than the jewellery gauge going into the piercing, this is to allow the skin to heal between the jewellery and the cartilage. Excessive bleeding is an indication your piercer didn't candle the cartilage before doing the piercing to see where the veins are located on both sides of the cartilage.

How fast will a 5 day old tragus piercing close if jewelry is taken out?

It'll probably close up in less than an hour.

How long does it take for a piercing to close just after getting a piercing?

a few days or just overnight it actually really depends on the piercing. A lip or tongue piercing will begin to close almost immediately if it was pierced very recently(within a month-ish of being pierced) However everyone is different but the mouth is known to be the quickest healing of the human body. Ear lobes Vs ear cartilage piercing will differ as well. A lobe will heal faster than cartilage because cartilage takes longer to develop. So it really depends on your body type and what type of piercing.

So I'm going on Saturday to get my Daith pierced I was wondering if the pain was similar to a tragus piercing Also if I had to get it pierced with a captive ring or if I could get a heart?

Below is a general comparison of pain levels according to feedback from approximately 40,000 piercees. These describe relative intensity as perceived by the majority piercees. Due to varying sensitivity levels and perceptions of pain, however, there are many exceptions and differences of opinion.
