Some take the view that Dumbledore truly cared about Harry and considered him a son which is why he was so involved in his life and took so many steps to help him.
Others think that Dumbledore was so invested in making sure Harry survived because he knew that Voldemort had to destroy the Horcrux inside of him and that Harry may die, so who better to risk destroying the rest of the Horcruxes.
Severus Snape never liked Harry Potter, or care for him but he did protect him. Snape hated Harry because he was a constant reminder that Lily, the only woman he ever loved, married James, his enemy. As Harry sees in the Pensieve reason Snape protects Harry because, since childhood, Snape was deeply in love with Lily and Dumbledore gave him a second chance. He protects Harry solely because he is her son and Dumbledore asked him to.
As a flawed character it makes him incapable of warming to Harry as can be seen when he tears in half the photo he finds at Grimmauld Place, keeping the portion of Lily, discarding that with Harry in it. It is also telling that when he dies, he implores Harry to look at him, and dies looking into Harry's eyes, the only physical trait Harry inherited from Lily, although Snape really had hoped he would have more time, or maybe at least time to let him know he was going to give him some memories for the pensieve.
Harry does not respect or like Snape until he learns that he was really a good guy and he really comes to respect the man as he names his son Albus Severus Potter, and calls Snape"the bravest man I ever knew."
Harry learned a few things, but the most important was that Harry would have to die in order to destroy Voldemort. He also learned that Snape has always loved his mother, and that he has been working as a double agent for seventeen years.
Severus Snape attempted to get Harry Potter expelled from Hogwarts on several occasions. Snape wanted to punish Harry for James' actions towards Snape. Throughout the years, Snape bullied, embarrassed and punished Harry. Yet, Snape also works with Dumbledore to protect Harry's life because he wanted to protect the son of Lily Potter.
he gives him a container filled with all the important memories of Snape's that he (Snape) thinks will be useful to Harry, or explain things more clearly. They (mostly) revolve around Snape and Lily (Potter's Mum) starting from childhood right up to the time that Lily dies and the discussion that followed (with Dumbledore) after. It explains to Harry that even before Harry came to Hogwart's Snape was trying to help him, acting as spy for Dumbledore. Snape loved Lily so much that he protected her only son by spying even though he could have died because of it. It also explains to Harry that he (Harry) must die at Voldemort's hand to destroy the seventh Horcrux (himself).

Answer 1Snape was very guarded about his past. We only got the occasional brief glimpse of what his home life may have been like. We are given the impression that Tobias was not very kind and understanding to Snape all the same.Answer 2When Harry accidentally breaks into Snape's mind in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and sees some of Snape's childhood memories, one of the memories he sees is Snape's dad yelling at Snape's "cowering" mother (USA Scholastic hardcover edition, p592). The fact that Eileen Snape was cowering from her husband suggests that he was physically abusive to her, since you don't usually cower from someone unless you are afraid they're going to hit you. If Tobias Snape did indeed beat his wife, then it is certainly possible that he beat young Severus too.
No, they are never friends. However once Harry understands Snape's life and history, he gains a great deal of respect for him and even names one of his children after him (Albus Severus Potter).
I seriously doubt it, because Snape's parents aren't in Deathly Hallows, not even in a flashback. Snape's parents appear only once in the series, when Harry breaks into Snape's mind in Order of the Phoenix and sees some of Snape's childhood memories. And that's only in the book, not the movie.

Snape only killed Dumbledore because Dumbledore asked him to so that the Elder wand wouldn't have a master. Ever since Lord Voldemort threatened Lily Potter's life, Snape had been helping Dumbledore and the Order. When Lily died he agreed to protect Harry and continued to do so with Dumbledore's help even after the headmaster had died.

The way Snape step up and protects the kids from the werewolf. He put himself in front of them and takes his arms out. Even tho he clearly dislikes Harry Potter. This foreshadowing something very important in book 7.

When Severus Snape is dying, he gives his memories to Harry so that he has all the information he needs. Harry watches them and discovers that Snape was in love with his mother and that when he realised Lord Voldemort planned to kill her, he went to Albus Dumbledore and told him that the Potter's were in danger so that he could protect them - he also begged Voldemort to let Lily survive. Dumbledore agreed to protect the Potter's if Snape would pretend to be a death eater, spying on the order when in actual fact, he was an order member pretending to be a death eater who was spying on the order. After Lily's death, Snape agreed to help keep Harry alive even if he hated him. When Dumbledore found out he would die within a year, he told Snape that he must be the one to kill him. Snape was also tasked with telling Harry that for Voldemort to die, Harry had to die. After hearing this, Harry went to Voldemort and allowed himself to be hit by the killing curse, accepting his fate. However, he does not die because the killing curse only killed the part of Voldemort's soul that was inside Harry. This allowed Harry to return to the battle and because all his Horcruxes has been destroyed, Voldemort could now die.
