It is first necessary to purchase or build a vehicle that has been scripted with physics to enable it to move and be driven. The vehicle must then be rezzed in an allowed area with suitable terrain. Right click the vehicle and select sit or drive. Most second life cars are controlled using the keyboard arrow keys, E and C for gear up/down.

There are many roads suitable for driving along on all the Linden mainland continents, also private regions dedicated to off road, racing and sailing. These can be found using the search function.
