It is not common for piercings, even new ones, to close up after only being out for 7 hours.

Take it out. I had mine pierced and it ripped out. So unless you want two skin flaps I suggest you take it out. If you want it re-pierced then you can get it done again after it's closed up. :)

Yes they can do that and yes they will charge you more for the dental work due to the piercing.
