The mossberg model 151K was made from 1950-1951.
Find a good gunsmith and ask for help.
The Mossberg Model 151-K was made for two years only: 1950 and 1951.
It was only made for two years- 1950 and 1951.
The Model 151k was produced 1950-51. The average value for the model in good condition is approximately $100-$150. It is one of my favorite guns to shoot. Very accurate.
If your rifle is a Model K (not a 151K, or 640K, just Model K) THAT is going to be a challenge. That rifle was made from 1922 to 1931. I would suggest that you contact Vic Or Cheryl Havlin through their website at havlinsales, and that you check the Mossberg board at the rimfirecentral website. The Havlins perform gunsmithing and sale of parts forr Mossbergs, and operate the Mossberg Collectors Association. Good luck. Did that thanks, I actually belong to the Mossberg Collectors Association. They do not have parts right now. This is actually the "s" version of the 22 and is missing the loading assembly I am hoping to find a parts gun so that I can restore this one I think the parts from the "k" model will work also.
Since these rifles were made prior to the 1968 Gun Control Act, they do not have serial numbers, so cannot be dated to a single year. However, the Mossberg 151K was only made for 2 years- 1950 and 1951. It will be one or the other.
Try gun shops, gun shows, pawn shops, garage sales, estate sales, on line auctions
I've just seen one listed for as low as $60.00 and another listed for $260.00. I guess it depends on the condition of the rifle. Maybe one in great condition can sell for more???
There were several Mossberg .22 rifles that load through the stock. The 51M, 151K, ect. These have a removable inner rod that is draw back through the buttplate, and cartridges are inserted into an angled hole in the side of the stock. Mossberg also made rifles that loaded from a box type magazine, and an under barrel tube magazine. There are more than 100 different Mossberg 22 rifles made.
No exact production numbers avaialble that I know of, but they would have not been extremely high- that rifle was only made for 2 yrs. (I have two of them- for a hunting grade of rifle they are VERY accurate)
