The Dianawerk / RWS target model 100 .177 cal was made between 1989-98. Its a very expensive rifle.
Diana made over a dozen different "Air Rifles."
Diana or should I say Dianawerk has gone through several changes over the years ( it's to long to go into here.) But they produced 3 different models called the model 20. The first "model 20" was made between 1907-1911, The second model was the "model 20 Youth" made between 1912-1940, then came the "model 20 Adult" made between 1993-2003.
This is just a matter of opinion. In fact Diana has made some of the RWS rifles in the past. Overall both lines of rifles are about the same. If you are going to compare rifles then select a particular model from each manufacture then compare the qualities of each. This is just a matter of opinion. Milbro ( Millard Brothers) started making air rifles in 1949 in Motherwell, Lanarkshire. Scotland. Using machinery taken from Dianawerk in Germany after WWII. Milbro was sold in 1970. Unfortunately I have no information on the model 605. Milbro continued to make air rifles under the Diana name, but I can't find anything in Diana relating to model 605.
I believe your air gun was made by Diana. Who made air rifles for HY-Score. I think it's a Diana model 23. If so then it's worth between $45-$60 in good condition.
Yes Diana RWS rifles are still made. See the link below.
There is a problem with identifying the dates of Diana air rifles. Diana made air rifles in Germany before WWII, during the war the Germans made them switch to firearms for the German army. After the war the Allies broke up the Diana plant and sold off all the machinery. Some went to the Millard Brothers in Scotland and became "Milbro". Later Diana finally got he rights to the Diana name but had to make air guns & rifles for other air gun companies. Today Diana is back making their own air guns and rifles. You can try and contact Diana to see if they can help you. See the link below . Remember to switch the page to English. You will find the English tab at the upper right when the page opens
Okay. I'm going to try to keep this simple because there are volumes written about Diana. I'll start with RWS, they are a division of RUAG AmmoTec GmbH of Germany. Now for Diana: Diana's real name is Dianawerk GmbH & CO. KG, Mayer & Grammelspacher. The name Diana appears on their rifles and has become synonymous with their guns. Diana has been making air gun since before WWII. During WWII the Nazi's forced Diana to produce Mauser's for the Germans. After the war everything was sold off or destroyed. Milbro of England bought the major machinery and made Milbro air rifles in Scotland some were called Diana. When Diana finally got started up again They started to make rifles for other manufactures. This is where you see RWS and Diana crossovers. Diana also made rifles for Beeman and Winchester. It's not uncommon for air gun manufactures to make models for other companies. The Daisy model 130 is also known as the EL GAMO.
At present, Daisy air gun co distributes and services Winchester air rifles. From 1969 to 1975 Winchester imported eight different models from Meyer & Grammelspacher in Germany. Yours is one of them. It's a Diana model 27.
