There is no secret. It's just a ball. The illusion that it is floating is created through "Contact Juggling", a difficult art that takes a lot of practice. To practice it, you can use a light object, but what the illusion really is is the clear outer covering of the original ball to make it look like it is floating in air. When you keep the ball in place it just looks like your hands are moving all around it and it looks cool. Hence the "illusion".
