It would depend on the order in which you got the results.

If the negative came first, and the positive ones came after that, then you took the first pregnancy test too soon and you are pregnant.

However, if the first two test positive, and then the third try was a negative, then you aren't pregnant. In fact, you actually were pregnant and had a miscarriage. This happens in a lot of women. They'll be late on their period because they actually are pregnant, but then miscarry extremely early (within days of implantation) and their period starts up again. This mostly happens due to acidity in the vagina, usually from overdoses of vitamin c. If this is the case, don't worry. There isn't a tiny baby in there that needs a doctors attention to get out.

If you want to know for sure, it's always best to check up with a doctor or gynecologist.

What does on vertical line in the results window of a pregnancy test mean?

if you have only 1 line after taking your home pregnancy test it mean that you are NOT pregnant, and if there are 2 lines on your home pregnancy test, then you are pregnant but should go to a docotor to confirm it.

If you think you are about two weeks pregnant and had a once off heavy bleeding and the pregnancy test showsis positive does that mean you had a miscarriage?

It is possible, but the bleeding could also have been from implantation bleeding. A pregnancy test will show positive for a while after a miscarriage because your body has not rid itself of the HCG (pregnancy hormone) levels yet. The further along you were, the longer a pregnancy test will show positive. I would still be on the lookout for any symptoms of pregnancy, continue taking your prenatal vitamins (or at least folic acid), refrain from alcohol and tobacco and caffeine then in a couple weeks take another test and see. Or you can go to the doctor to either confirm pregnancy or miscarriage.

The Difference Between a Qualitative and Quantitative Pregnancy Test?

A pregnancy test can be performed early in pregnancy to predict conception or gestational age. Urine-based pregnancy tests detect pregnancy hormones in urine for a positive or negative result. Blood tests measure how much of a pregnancy hormone is present.Qualitative Pregnancy Test – UrineHome pregnancy test kits and urine pregnancy tests given by a physician are qualitative. Qualitative refers to the method of diagnosing pregnancy. Urine tests measure the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in urine. If hCG is present, the test results are positive. If no hCG is found in urine, the test will be negative.False negatives are more common with a urine pregnancy test than false positives. False negatives can be caused by frequent urination due to high fluid intake and miscalculated start day of current menstrual cycle. False positives are typically linked to fertility treatments and prescription medications that include hCG as a means of increasing chance of conception.Quantitative Pregnancy Test – BloodA blood pregnancy test can be ordered as early as five to 10 days after unprotected intercourse. Blood pregnancy tests measure hCG levels in quantity rather than just a true or false result. Quantities can then be compared to normal levels as a means of gestational age prediction. In some cases, quantitative pregnant test results are higher than normal. Normal hCG levels at five weeks gestation fall between 18 and 7,340 mlU / ml. Measurements at the higher end of the range could mean medical issues with the pregnancy or multiple fetuses. Blood hCG levels will continue to rise until peaking between nine and 12 weeks gestation. After the 12th week, levels gradually fall until birth.Medical Treatment and Pregnancy TestDue to the possibility of false negative pregnancy test results, women who believe they may be pregnant should exercise caution when taking prescription and over the counter medications deemed unsafe during pregnancy. Diagnostic testing, such as X-rays and radiation-based testing should only be performed when medically necessary. Precautions include lead aprons placed over the abdominal area during X-rays. Prescription medications fall into pregnancy categories based on clinical testing and results. Categories include A, B, C, D and X.Category A drugs have been thoroughly tested for use during pregnancy and deemed safe. Category B is designated after animal testing revealed no signs of fetal harm. Category C may be linked to fetal damage in animal testing. Category D includes drugs proven to cause harm to a human fetus, but benefits from medications in this category could outweigh risks. Category X is reserved for medications that should never be used during pregnancy.

If you think you're pregnant should you stop taking the birth control pill?

Well if you have taken a home-pregnancy test and it is positive then yes, you should stop. But you should not take the pregnancy test until at least the day of your expected period or 14 days after intercourse other wise your results will not likely be accurate. If you do get a positive pregnancy test then go ahead and stop taking your birth control and make an appointment with an OB/GYN. If the test is negative, continue taking your birth control pills until you do get a positive pregnancy test. If you stop taking it before you get the test results and it is negative, your chances of pregnancy are heightened greatly. But if you continue taking it until you get a positive test result, you will not have had enough to cause any harm to the baby.

What do you do if pregnancy tests give different results?

Usually different results from pregnancy tests come from using the test too early. Taking the test too soon will cause a test to read a false negative. Some HPT are more sensitive than others, they will read positive sooner than a less sensitive test. False negative results are very common from using the test too early, false positive is almost unheard of unless the test kit was damaged somehow. Always check the kit before using it, including the expiration date and follow directions.

Can a positive home pregnancy test result be incorrect?

If you are not taking hormone supplements then you are pregnant. You can get a false negative, you cannot get a false positives.

If you still have a positive pregnancy test a week after a suspected miscarriage what does this mean?

It means that there is still the presence of the pregnancy hormone (hCG). Home pregnancy tests give positive results when they detect the presence of hCG. It can take days to several weeks for a woman's hCG levels to return to baseline after a miscarriage; it all depends on how far along she was. Taking home pregnancy tests in the first few weeks after a miscarriage is not a reliable way to check for pregnancy because of all of the false negative results, due to the lingering pregnancy hormone in the woman's system.

What if you r taking vitamin's that has the same things in it as prenatal's will it make you test a false positive?

A pregnancy tests detects the hcg in your system. It can read a false negative but not a false positive.
