It is generally accepted the the pellet rifles used in the Olympics are the finest made. Look up rifles made by FEINWERKBAU WESTINGER & ALTENBURGER
BB rifles and BB guns are neither accurate or powerful. Basically because of the design of the barrel. Most BB guns use a smooth bore barrel. Where as pellet rifles use a rifled bore barrel. It has grooves that make the pellet spin and fly straighter. BB's tumble when fired out of the barrel. BB guns can injure you but never attain the accuracy, power or speed of a pellet rifle. The best BB rifle I know of (NOT Pellet only rifle) is the Daisy 880. It is capable of firing both BB and single shot Pellets.
It's designed as a pellet rifle. Forcing it to fire BBs will ruin the rifling in the barrel. Rendering it much less accurate, It's a good way to ruin a pellet rifle.
This would be a BIG mistake if you used BB'S in the Phantom. The Phantom is a pellet rifle not a BB rifle. The barrel of the rifle is a "Rifled barrel" meaning it has grooves that make the pellet spin as it's fired out of the rifle. BB's are hard and will destroy the rifling in the barrel. Making it not as accurate. BB guns and BB rifles usually are smooth bore like a straw and BB's have not effect on the barrel. BB guns are a lot less accurate that Pellet guns. Pellets spin when shot, BB's tumble when fired, this is why they are less accurate.
In general, BB guns are smoothbore, and the barrel is larger than the steel BB. Pellets guns are rifled, and fire a lead pellet that is a squeeze fit to the bore. This is MUCH more accurate than a BB. GOOD pellet guns are more accurate than firearms, within their usable range. I have one pellet rifle that will put pellet after pellet into the same hole in the target at 10 meters.
The most accurate measurement for a pellet with a mass of 3.25 grams would be to weigh it using a digital scale that can measure to at least two decimal places. This way, you can get a precise measurement of the pellet's mass.
BB Guns are not designed for hunt. For hunting you will need a pellet rifle. preferably a .22 caliber pellet rifle. BB guns are designed for just plinking around and are not very accurate beyond 20 feet.
The Crosman Recruit is a pellet rifle not a pellet gun. If you want to see how the rifle is assembled then see the link below for the diagram.
Only if the rifle is designed for pellets. If it is a "Red Ryder" then the answer is NO. Daisy makes PELLET rifles.

Anschutz and Remington 700 are regarded to be most accurate rifles in the world. NOMAN
The Crosman 1077 is far superior. For two reasons. It is a true Pellet rifle and has a rifled barrel that makes it more accurate. The Recruit is a BB / Pellet rifle with a smooth boar barrel. The 1077 is modeled after the real Ruger 1022.
Manufactures don't list the range of their rifle. It would be nice if they did but they don't. This is because pellets come in different weights. A light weight pellet will travel farther than a heavy pellet but it will be less accurate than a heavy pellet because it more effected by crosswind. A heavy pellet will fly straighter and have more knockdown impact than a lightweight pellet, but won't fly as far as a light weight pellet. Because the Dominator is a PCP class rifle it obviously has more force than a regular air rifle and you can expect a little more distance at full power. Several PCP class air rifles have a power dial and his also effects the distance.
