I have three Hy-Score Questions that have been in the Question pool for quite some time. I have found them to be amongst the hardest questions to find an answer. I use several Air gun Bluebooks and the web to locate information when answering questions about Air guns. The problem with HY-Score is there is very little information available ANYWHERE. I do know that HY-Sore did make several pistols themselves and apparently the rifles were made by other manufactures like Diana (Of Germany), Hammerli, Baikal, Fabrigue and others. These manufactures put the Hy-Score name on the rifles, some even had the original name on them. My reference books only list 8 different pistols and NO rifles at all, The books just say everybody else made rifles for Hy-Score. Not all of the pistols are even listed.
The Company started in 1933 in Brooklyn, NY and ended in 1980 with the death of Steve Laszio, the owner. It was then moved to England under the Phoenix Arms Co. name in 1989 but disappeared soon afterwards.
So at this time I cannot give you an estimate of value because I have nothing to go by. I suggest you check Firearms resellers on the web like Gunsamerica, they sell used air guns or check other sites like them.
New information 7/10/2014 The Hy Score model 806 is the same model as the Diana model 22 and the Winchester model 422. They were made between 1953 to 1985. Please state the current condition of the rifle. Give it some sore of rating like Poor, Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent condition and then I can set an estimate of value.
Sometime around the mid 1970's. New information 7/10/2014 The Hy Score model 806 is the same model as the Diana model 22 and the Winchester model 422. They were made between 1953 to 1985
Today it would be worth between $30 and $40.
Let my examine your question. I think you mean Pellet rifle not Pellet gun. The Hy Score model 806 is the same model as the Winchester 422 and the Diana model 22. Unfortunately you did not give me any information about the condition of the rifle itself. Is it in {POOR, FAIR, GOOD, VERY GOOD or EXCELLENT Condition. You have to give me some sort of rating before I can give you an estimate of value. Tell me about the condition of the rifle. Does it still shoot?
20-60 USD or so
Which model, What condition is it in. You need to give more information.
5-75 usd
In order to get an estimate of value I need to know the model number, the condition of the rifle and is it still working?
Several companies made rifles for Hy-Score. Price values are all over the place on this Air-rifle. It all depends on whose name is on the actual rifle. I do believe that it was made by Diana, But that is just a guess. I highly suggest that you get a hold of the book "Bluebook of Airguns 9th edition" and go to the HY-Score section and start reading you have a lot of work to do to determine this value.
Go to the link below- Look under "H" section and "The Hy-score Story" section.
I believe your air gun was made by Diana. Who made air rifles for HY-Score. I think it's a Diana model 23. If so then it's worth between $45-$60 in good condition.
Best left to a professional, cost might exceed worth of the air weapon.
It's a Diana Model 2 air pistol sold under the Hy Score name in the 1960s.
