∙ 10y agoFax is an electronic machine by which some printed matter can be sent as it is to a distant receiver's fax machine. Where as the email or electronic mail is typed on the computer screen and is instantly sent to a recipient by quoting his email id to be visible at his computer screen by searching his inbox. Apart from basic difference, there is some similarity in nature of both equipments.
A fax machine scans the document as an image, trasmits that information to a receiving machine that will then take that information and reproduce the document, it transmits a non editable "picture" of the document.
Email is a computer based media allowing the transmission via the Internet and other computer networks f documents , (editable or not), photos, voice messages, programs or any kind of computer data from a computer to one or more addressees.

The difference between fax and email is very simple. Fax is a communication way where people send documents or important letters to someone using Telephone lines.
But Email minimizes it. It a modern way to express your feeling to another one via the Internet. You can send emails from anywhere in the world and it will reach instantly to the destination. So, it was a very quick and a modern Idea.
But if we look back on first 20th century the Fax took place over the world and make it able to communicate easily and also it is a glorious invention to business history.
