A 16 gauge or 14 gauge are the most common for lip piercings.
you should use a stud
yes you can use a 15 gauge to pierce your nose i did. and it hurt a lil bit but yes you can
Nope. You can get it done with a hoop initially as well.
Nope. They just pierce it. Anything they could use to numb your lip would cause it to swell up, making it hard to pierce you accurately. Besides, it doesn't hurt very much.
The people at Claire's will not pierce lips. They only pierce lobes and, at some locations, the cartilage of your ear. They use piercing guns instead of needles, and the guns cannot be used on the lip.
Generally a 14g for a male your lip/labret, and 16g for a female lip/labret or monroe, madonna, medusa piercing.
You could just use a ruler with mm markings and measure it. You can use google to find conversion charts from mm-gauge.
If you are good at it. and have perfessional equitement that they use to pierce lips go ahead. If you don't then don't try it. Let someone else do it that's good at it!
Yes if you still need the needle to pierce yourself it is cool but not someone else because it is you needle now that it went through your lip.
Yes, but you would be streching the hole, like people stretch their ears.
Wait about a month before you stretch it up. Use surgical steel and not acrylic. 18ga-14ga is pretty easy so you shouldn't need tapers or tape. And never ever pierce yourself again ;)
Guns are usually 18ga or 20ga. Needles are probably 16ga but they might be 18ga.
