Chemicals WILL NOT make you heal faster! Quite the opposite in fact, chemicals of any kind will upset the balance within your newly forming cells and create a condition in which your piercing will heal tremendously slow, if ever. Therefore, DO NOT USE any product marked for "external use only" including, but not limited to: Proven, rubbing alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide, Bactine and Ear Care Solutions, benzethonium chloride, Antibacterial soaps, such as Dial, Soft Soap, etc., Neosporin or any other petroleum-based ointment such as betadine or Hibiclens.

SALINE SOLUTION: Saline is the key to quick healing! It's PH balanced to our bodies. The easiest and most accurate way to acquire saline is in the form of saline solution for contact lenses, preferably the sterile type in a pressurized can. DO NOT use multi- purpose solutions or wetting/soaking solutions, they contain an enzyme and are not the same as saline solution.
NON-IODIZED SEA SALT: Non-iodized sea salt will always state on the package "this salt does not contain iodine, a necessary nutrient." Check the label before you purchase. DO NOT USE table salt or Epson salt.

Is it okay to clean a lip piercing with Bactine?
No, it is not OK. Bactine dries out the skin around the piercing, meaning the skin around your piercing will die. Bacteria tends to gather in the dead tissue and can cause infection. So, no, don't use it.
Can you use peroxide on a navel piercing?
No. Never ever ever use peroxide, alcohol, bactine or neosporin on ANY piercings. The chemicals in these products are too harsh for the piercing and will cause severe irritation, which may lead to infection. All you need to put on it is antibacterial (Dial) soap once a day.
Can you use cocoa butter on a navel piercing?

Is bactine good for belly piercing?
NO! Do not use Bactine on piercings. The following is quoted from the Bactine Website:Q. Can I use on body piercing? We cannot recommend that Bactine be used for this purpose since body piercings are considered puncture wounds. Consumers should consult their doctor for treatment of such wounds.Piercings should be cleaned once or twice daily with a sea salt solution that should be no saltier than your tears (~ 1/4 tsp to 8 oz of water). Is it all right to use Bactine to clean a lip piercing?
It is NOT OK...I just did my peircing and my lip is soooo swollen!!! Do not use Bactine!Read the back of the bottle! In the event of deep wounds or puncture wounds consult a physician. Can you go to the beach after a 2 day old navel piercing?
Sure why not? Unless there is a magic force field that prohibits you from enjoying life due to your navel piercing why not. Use common sense, if you go in the water be sure when you get home you wash your new piercing in the shower, other than that fill your boots or should that be your sand bucket? Have fun.
