airsoft rifles can shoot quite far belive it or not . an airsoft rifle can shoot up to 500 feet per second which is pretty fast , the only question is how many seconds does it travel for , well , it really depends on the airsoft pellet or BB you use , using the lighter .12 gram bb will result in a very far yet innacurate shot , however the heavier .28 gram bb will be the most accurate but will not travel very far , the choice of most pro airsofters it a .20 gram bb , they provide excelent accuracy and travel a good distance. i have picked off a couple targets at 900ft using a gas aisoft rifle , oh yah that reminds me , the type of gun your buying really makes a difference too , spring rifles are the most common , they are powered by a high powered spring that really can pack a punch, an AEG or airsoft electric rifle is well .. electric , and are mostly fully automatic , the gas rifles would have to be the best choice , the fire the same as a paintball gun , using CO2 or green gas. also the length of the barrel will effect the accuracy and distance . if your looking for distance a gas sniper rifle will work the best for you . i hope you take all of these factors into consideration and hope you get what your looking for .
