3/4 of an inch from the tip of the tongue, too far back will require a very long barbell and the swelling can be dangerous not to mention the chances of triggering the gag reflex.
Mine reaches the very back and I´m 11 years old with a lot of skills
The tongue extends back to the base of the mouth, where it is attached to the hyoid bone and the mandible (jawbone). It also reaches towards the epiglottis, which helps with swallowing and preventing food from entering the windpipe.
Yes, the tongue is divided into regions that are thought to be more sensitive to specific taste sensations – sweet at the tip, sour on the sides, salty at the front edges, and bitter at the back. However, taste receptors for all taste sensations are distributed throughout the entire tongue.
A long tongue can be a physical trait that varies among individuals and does not necessarily have a specific meaning. In some cultures and beliefs, a long tongue can symbolize communication, speaking the truth, gossip, or deceit, depending on the context.
Normal placement is 3/4" from the tip of the tongue to the top ball. If your tongue is unusually long placement can vary slightly. If you remove the piercing (no sooner than 72 hours from the time the piercing was first done) you will need to wait at least 3~4 weeks from removal date to get the piercing redone. The tongue swells and distends once it's pierced so we need to be sure this swelling is gone and the old piercing had healed up so there is no bump or distension from the old piercing to interfere with the new piercing. edit: did you know people get (not uncommon either) brain abscesses from their tongue piercings? be careful, because this is definitely one of the most dangerous areas to pierce considering how close it is to your brain stem.

closer to the bottom but not to far back
No you do not in fact, the proper placement is at least that far back from the tip, depending on a person's tongue length. The placement varies and of course depends on the person, sometimes they wish it to be as far back as you can pierce it safely to allow for more piercings in front of them. Your piercer should've been careful to avoid the veins that are visable underneath for proper placement and a piercing that will heal well and correctly. If your piercing site is infected, still bleeding, painful or still severely swollen after the general 3 to 4 days after the initial piercing or your tongue is turning gray or black then yes, you should remove your piercing if you can, immediately, & seek medical attention.
A human tongue typically extends to the back of the throat, where it connects to the pharynx. This is where the throat splits into the esophagus for food and the trachea for breathing.
If you want it in the center you can see if they can put it as far forward or back as you want but it is slightly limited by the tongue frenulum sometimes.
obviously not that far unless you want vomit in your mouth

You need a longer bar until your tongue swelling recedes. We pierce with a 7/8" bar to minimize this problem.. go back to your piercer immediately. It can cause a severe irritaion if not infection as well. Thanks :] I went down to Evolved on campus today and they put in a 22mm barbell with a big bottom ball so the ball wouldn't go back into my tongue. It's working fairly well so far. The place I got it pierced at here in town used a barbell that was smaller than the barbells people have in their tongue after you have had it pierced for a while.
Each person's anatomy is different. The tongue's length averages 6 inches to 9 inches. it's anchored at the back of you throat.
yes it would your bristles would reach into ant gap that your tongue would fit into with ease
Very far
No they do not do body piercing nor are they licensed to.As far as I know, they only do ear piercings. I went there to get my ear pierced and the sign only mentioned ear piercings. Claire's is not licensed to pierce anything let alone ears, however they skirt around health regulations by not mentioning "piercing" to the business licencing authorities.
