You need a longer bar until your tongue swelling recedes. We pierce with a 7/8" bar to minimize this problem.. go back to your piercer immediately. It can cause a severe irritaion if not infection as well.
Thanks :] I went down to Evolved on campus today and they put in a 22mm barbell with a big bottom ball so the ball wouldn't go back into my tongue. It's working fairly well so far. The place I got it pierced at here in town used a barbell that was smaller than the barbells people have in their tongue after you have had it pierced for a while.
yes it is a divet from the ball resting
IS the jewelry really tight? Its not uncommon for the bottom ball to "nestle" and cause a dent on the underside of your tongue but not usually on the top. I sugggest that you go ask your piercer since they can actually look at whats going on :)
This usually refers to a tongue piercing object - small, silver ball shaped.
Go to your piercer.
honestly yes, in a sense, you cant really have a normal dermal plate because theyre too long, but what I did was I used a labret piercing with rounded back plate in place of my tongue bar, making sure it was a snug fit and the labret plate actually worked its way into my tongue and I just left if for the bottom to heal.. its been 6 months and its perfectly healthy.. since then I have had ball bearings put in my tongue
If you're asking if it's normal that the bar is slanted, yes. the bottom ball is usually a bit closer to the teeth than the top. This is just because there isn't room in your mouth for the barbell to set straight up and down. I've also seen bars sit side to side and also with the top closer to the teeth.
Well it should look like a tongue with a barbell running through it, the distention (mild swelling) around the piercing is normal and no cause for concern
If you still have the bead thread it back on, if you lost it all together, then get into your local professional body piercing studio and get another barbell.
It can become embedded then you'd have to get it cut out. If this has already happened, go see your piercer immediately. If they aren't available, go see a doctor
If you just recently got it pierced, then it makes sense for it to bleed a little and feel sore. If the piercing is old, it might be irritated. Rinse with salt water to cleanse the area.
No, its not. Go see your piercer.
Betweeen 4 and 6 mm. The most common is probably 5 mm.
