Like most other screwed on things on the business end of a firearm the magazine tube on the maverick 88 and or Mossberg 500 as well as probably every other shotgun in the wold, the tube is set with loctite or other thread sealer, which should be easily be burned off by applying a bit of heat, so don't risk destroying your weapon by sticking it in a vise and wrenching it off when you can melt the glue away and simply screw off the magazine tube with some oven mitts on.
