You can by vinyl record albums of many current releases. Phonographs (record players) are still made by many manufacturers.
It's all vinyl with a label attached made of paper usually glued to the center.
You need a special device. There are some record players that also have an area for blank compact discs. Follow the instructions given that came with the device. You could also just buy the alum directly on CD, or grab a record player from a yard sale and hear the vinyl record the way that it was intended.

8-track players lost popularity in the Seventies. Cassette tape players (especially "boom boxes") and vinyl record players were much more common in the Eighties.
